MISSION
Trilogy Lacrosse’s primary goal is player development.
Our program emphasizes education and we encourage our coaches to teach as much as possible. We believe that we will achieve success as players improve their individual skills within the framework of the team.
In order to be successful, players must execute specific actions in the most effective manner possible. They must develop muscle memory so these motions become instinctual requiring no additional mental energy. Coaches focus on these kinesthetic fundamental skills and provide feedback such that players can practice them outside of Team commitments.
To achieve full mastery of the sport, players must know the answer behind the “why” question. We focus on explaining the reason or logic behind a decision or action so they can develop their cerebral understanding of the sport. We encourage this behavior by creating scenarios where they must critically apply their knowledge into a larger schematic framework.
The last component largely comes from within an individual player and represents how one plays the game. We want our players to treat the game with respect and honor it by giving forth maximum effort at all times – Training Camp, Practices, and Tournaments. They must display a passion for the game and look at every opportunity as a chance to improve themselves. They achieve this goal by listening to their coaches and buying in to the lessons and tactics set forth by the entire program.
When a player combines these three attributes, they have reached the pinnacle. Commonly referred to as “being in the zone,” this represents the ultimate goal as they play with complete control over their faculties. All actions are governed by instinct and a will to win.
